Exorcism is the act of casting out demonic spirits. I find this supernatural power very interesting . Some people are terribly oppressed by evil spirits and seek exorcisms. The Catholic Church practices eliminating demonic spirits from people by invoking the Holy Spirit in prayer and with the imposition on of a hand over the victims head. The Catholic Church performs exorcism thru an exorcism ritual, which involves a confession of the victim, invoking the Holy Spirit and bringing the evil spirit to an oath. The priest wears a prayed on stole that extends to the victims neck, causing the victim to feel calm. Avoiding a sudden violent outburst caused by the demons manifesting against the exorcism.
Sometimes the priest can give the victim a blessed sacrament to be with the victim during a nonviolent exorcism process.
There are five rules the priest must keep in order to perform an exorcism. He must have personal integrity and be humble; believe that it’s the power of God and not his own in performing the exorcism. Understand that evil spirits can bluff, and try to shadow the evil spirit by making the victim look like they are freed. The priest must use the words from the bible and make the demon say where he is coming from,be it a spell, a clairvoyant mark or some occult deed. In order for the exorcism to be successful the demon must reveal how it got ordered into the victim’s body, if the person drank something it must be expelled from the person’s body. The lord Jesus Christ said some evil spirits can only be cast out thru fasting and prayer. The power of holy spirit from God. Makes these evil spirits leave thier victims .
This research allowed me to understand exorcism in a realistic way and in the way most people imagine it. In the movies we see it as a frightening ordeal with all the violence and special effects .

One of my favorite movies were the exorcist. It scared the living day lights out of me and the idea of that it very intresting. I hope you write more about this.

I used to love the original exorcist .. Very scary movie because it actually could happen and has been recorded in history so it's makes even more terrifying !!!
ReplyDeleteIf you remeber the movie Constantine the main character was kind of a priest who knew what was happening and it comes to the same conclusion as yours were he's trying to get the demon out of rachel weiz through praying to god. my favourite quote of the movie "Angels and Demons can't cross over onto our plane. They can only whisper in our ears. But a single word can give you courage, or turn your favorite pleasure into your worst nightmare. Those with the demon's touch like those part angel, living alongside us. They call it the balance. I call it hypocritical bullshit."
